 About

Lori Greenberg is a glass bead and jewelry artist that creates pieces that defy the ordinary.  Always striving to be one step ahead, Lori is continually pushing her own envelope and coming up with designs geared toward other discerning jewelry designers and collectors who also desire to be set apart from the crowd.

It has been said that Lori has already created a body of work in her beads that is varied enough to carry an entire career.

Lori's degrees and training in counseling, psychology, hypnotherapy and art therapy, as well as a degree and background in textile design, combine her analytic problem-solving skills with an organic, flowing style of design.  The resulting pieces are a juxtoposition of structured and free-form organic elements that exist together seamlessly.

Lori's work is not about perfection but about process and expression.  While all pieces are durable, technically sound and visually appealing, perfection is lost in the organic forms and freeform construction of the jewelry pieces.  One would think that it would be difficult to control molten glass and easier to keep rigid wire and stones in place.  Lori finds just the opposite.  The flowing, viscous glass asks to be shaped and formed exactly while the wire says to her, do with me as you will, I will tell you what I want to be.

Customers have noted feeling strangely drawn to Lori's beads and jewelry as if they have personalities that call out to them.  They certainly have their own voices when they are being created.  Others have said that when they wear one of her pieces that they can't stop looking at it or fondling it.  They are being drawn to the soul in the work; the joy in the process.

In her studio in the foothills of Cave Creek, Arizona, Lori creates unique beads by heating colored rods of glass until molten in the flame of a propane-oxygen mix torch and applying it onto stainless steel mandrels which leave the hole when removed.  A custom, digitally controlled kiln ensures that everything has guaranteed strength and durability.  All of her jewelry pieces use only the best crystals, Bali and Karen Hill Tribe silver.
